History

Llanfair first joined our league in 1959 when they became the first of the clubs from the then defunct Ruthin Summer League clubs to join our League. For many years previously the League had just eight teams from an area North of Ruthin and within the Vale of Clwyd. Llanfair played on the Plas Newydd field across the road to their current pitch. Unfortunately they were forced to resign from the League after five years when they lost their pitch.

They rejoined the League in 1981 when they were able to use the Llysfasi pitch; they moved to the current pitch about 5 years ago which, ideally, is only 300 meters from the centre of the village. The Llanfair catchment is based on the original Llanfair Parish containing the villages of Llanfair, Graigfechan and Pentrecelyn.

They have a mix of very experienced players and a few youngsters - many of the team played in their last championship winning team of 1999 - since then they have won the North Wales Times knockout shield twice including the 2009 triumph in Rhewl against Cefn.
