History

Llanrhaeadr are one of the original members of the Summer League back in 1927 and when you consider that Bodfari and Trefnant are no longer freestanding, they with Llandyrnog share the distinction of being the only survivors from 1927.

Like many of the early Summer League clubs Llanrhaeadr had to rely on the kindness of local farmers for a pitches and at least 6 fields were used. In the late 80's they were fortunate enough to be allowed to use the pitch behind the new school. Since then the pitch has matured to became a first class playing surface and with its central location in the Vale, together with Rhewl provide excellent locations for the Shield Finals

The Llanrhaeadr catchment is based on the original Llanrhaeadr Parish; Generally it contains Llanrhaeadr, Pentre Llanrhaeadr, Prion, Peniel, Saron and parts of Cyffylliog.
